Week 39 — Days 6 & 7

POEM OF PRAISE

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?
The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock;
and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
Psalm 18:2, 31, 46

I’LL FOLLOW THE ROCK WHO SAVES ME

Many times, David hid among the rocks,
in caves hewn by water and wind;
but he never forgot to trust in the Rock,
his deliverer, fortress, and friend.
For he knew his salvation lay not in good hiding
or winning of battles by might.
He knew that his kingdom depended on God,
the strength behind each victorious fight.
The Lord was his Rock and Refuge,
his strong Fortress in days of distress.
I, too, can trust in my Savior,
my Rock who withstands every test.
So firmly I take my position,
for the Rock has given me His shield.
He has strengthened me for any battle,
and His Word is the sword that I wield.
Christ stooped down to earth to save me,
to raise me to follow His lead.
I’ll stand and follow victoriously,
for my Rock will provide every need.
