WEEK 27 – DAY 5
HOW UNSEARCHABLE ARE HIS JUDGMENTS!
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36
It is difficult for us to grasp the concept that God made, sustains, and owns everything. Not only that, but He sees, knows and understands it all as well. Many times, we do not understand why God does things the way He does. We try to reason it all out intellectually, and it just doesn’t work because God is bigger than us. When we try to fit God into the limited capacity of our own understanding, we always end up with less than what He truly is. When nothing seems to make sense, it is only through faith that we can accept that God is all-wise. By standing firm on the fact that He is both Creator and Savior, we can trust Him even when we cannot comprehend. Knowing that He desires only what is best for us helps us to accept that He owes us none of the things we think we want and yet gives freely all that we truly need. I (Susie) would never have dreamed that God could give me the children I needed and who needed me without also giving me a husband; but He did. I would not have believed I could be content as a single, but I am. The key to satisfaction, even to glorious, victorious living, is trusting the fact that He is God, and we are not.
Father, we thank You that You give us what is best for us and for Your glory rather than exactly what we ask for or think we need. Father, continue to use us to bring honor and glory to you. Keep us on Your path and give us the understanding that we need to live victoriously for You.
