WEEK 26 – DAY 4

NO COMPARISON

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:15-18

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession – to the praise of his glory,” (Ephesians 1:11-14 NIV). I am a co-heir with Christ. God has given me the Holy Spirit as proof that I am redeemed and have an inheritance in Heaven. We belong to Him as our own children belong to us. Because I know that I am a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords, I can have the strength to endure whatever comes my way in life. I know that the joy of eternity with God will far surpass any pain or trial of my short time on earth. The apostle Paul had been shipwrecked, beaten, stoned, and left for dead. He had suffered the mental anguish of being in prison and separated from those he loved. Yet Paul knew that “the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!” (Romans 8:18 Amplified)

Father, strengthen the spirit within us to be more aware of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Help us to know that we know that we are Your children and will join You in Heaven. Help us to live victoriously no matter what happens in our lives, knowing that all is filtered through Your love and that any suffering You allow cannot compare with the glory that will be ours in Christ throughout eternity! Thank you, Lord, for Your love!
