WEEK 21 – DAY 1

I AM THE LIGHT

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life. John 8:12

The rays of light penetrate through the trees to illuminate the forest floor and enable the green foliage to grow. Since we have surrendered our lives to Jesus, the rays of His Holy Spirit break through the messiness of our lives to continually draw us closer to Him. As we read the word of God, the Holy Spirit shines a spotlight on passages and makes us feel as if they were written with only us in mind. We are nourished by the scriptures, and the Light reveals anything in us that needs to be cleansed by His grace. Pray that the Light of Life, who is the Great I Am, will satisfy your hunger daily. Take the time to bask in His glorious light by praying, studying the Bible, and worshiping. This is how to thrive in your relationship with the Lord. Isaiah 61:3 “…that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” Pray the Lord will grow you up to be a mighty oak of righteousness! Sometimes the process of being nurtured by the Lord involves painful pruning, but the pruning is worth it if the result is being more like Jesus and growing closer to Him!

Lord, shine Your light into our lives to reveal the things we need to change. Nourish us with wisdom from Your word and prune away anything that hinders us from becoming like Jesus and shining as lights in the world.
